Fun Filled Weekend

Well we had a family fun weekend....To start, Chase had his best basketball game EVER.  He was amazing.  (Might have had a little something to do with the fact that I let him have 2 swallows of my Monster Energy Drink before the game)  But seriously he was an animal.  He scored the first 5 points of the game in about 1 minute.  And if you have ever seen 5 & 6 year olds play basketball, its like watching paint dry, 5 points in any 60 second increment is monumental in this kind of game J  And 1 of these points was a free throw, which he so desperately wanted to shoot (Before the game he asked me how he can get a free throw during the game and after explaining it to him I think he thought I meant he had to shoot every time he touched the ball)  But regardless he played amazing even his coach kept saying “pass to chase” “pass to chase”  Very proud parent day J  Here is a video of Chases free throw.

We decided that after such a great game we would reward chase by letting him pick out a family activity we could all go and do together.  So he picked out bowling.  So the three of us went bowling and had a great time.  I WON which Jared wasn’t very happy about and of course said his knees were hurting blah blah blah It was so much fun (did I mention I won) J

Heres a few pics of us bowling

Well little Cuesa is feeling a little better.  She somehow weaseled her little head out of her cone last night while sleeping and daddy woke up with it next to him.  So I put it back on this morning and hopefully it’ll still be on when I get home.  She’s supposed to wear it until Saturday…we shall see how this goes

On my way into work this morning I saw a car in front of me with SNOW on it.  Yup reread that I said SNOW.  Unbelievable.  This past weekend it was so cold that it snowed in the higher altitudes and didn’t melt yesterday cause it was so cold.  I almost died laughing when I drove past this chick and she had half her windshield covered in snow too. Ummmmm windshield wipers will work for a tiny bit of snow too.  I could have brushed it off with my hands with no gloves.  I was like ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW.  You have a ¼ inch of snow on your windshield and you couldn’t wipe it off.  But very amusing on my ride in.  Here a pic…obviously traffic was quite slow J

Fly by February

I cant believe February is almost over (I know it’s a short month and all, but it seemed to fly by)  We have been in our new house almost three weeks and things still aren’t where I want them L  We have been so busy.  Jared has been working “swing shift” at work which means he works anywhere from 10am-3am.  So he is pretty much always at work or sleeping right now L  So that leaves me and Chase on our own for now.  I typically take Chase to school and Jared has picked him up.  I go in later and he gets off earlier so it just works out better.  However since this whole work time change, things have been a little hectic.  Im still taking Chase to school (which he is still going to the same school he did when we lived 20 min south of where we live now – so with traffic it takes me over an hour to bring him to school and get to work and that’s on a good day)  Well now Im picking him up too and that’s another minimum of 90 minutes of driving.  So im averaging about 2 ½ hours in the car EVERYDAY right now.  I soooooo cant wait for this swing shift crap to be OVER.  But at least I get to spend some nice quality time with my buddy.  I love picking him up from school and have him tell me all about his day.  He is so excited to get it all out and tell me how he did.

Well as much as I hate to complain about my weather it has been freezing here J  I do NOT like it when I leave the house and its only 50 degrees.  It does get to the high sixties during the day, but still I wish it was warm when I wake up.  (but still soooooo much better than Syracuse – I feel bad for my family and friends and all the snow they have)

This past weekend Jared and I went to Vegas for a basketball tournament and we had a blast.  (However the 8 ½ hour drive there and 10 hour drive back SUCKED…its typically maybe a 4-5 hour drive if your slow and with the traffic cause of the holiday weekend and the rain we were bearly crawling the whole time)  Again you would think it would be HOT in Vegas, but noooo quite the opposite. It was freezing and RAINING (It rains in the desert, apparently I missed the memo…….but I got it on Friday)  Jared’s knees didn’t seem to bother him too much in the games.  In fact, I think it was by far the best he has played since he got his surgery.  He was very aggressive and even was dunking during practices.  He is still getting stronger, but def a major improvement.

Here is a couple pics from the weekend.

Chase is still doing very well at basketball.  He only has 2 games left in the season so we are almost finished.  I feel like we just started.  I like seeing that he enjoys it a lot.  I’m sure it helps that he’s pretty good, because he is not a fan of things he sucks at J Here is a little video of him at practice the other night.

Cuesa is at the Vet today getting spayed.  I know I know why didn’t we do it a looooooong time ago.  Well no real reason, just didn’t get around to it.  So I’m hoping my little princess comes home today and isn’t to sore or hurt.  We are looking forward to NO MORE being in heat.  I’m sure lots of other people have it much worse, but Jared really gets grossed out by it.  So I know he will be happy J Ill have to take a pic of her and her big cone head tonight when I pick her up.

Hopefully after this weekend we will have a LOT of stuff finished at the house.  We don’t have any plans and nothing is going on which is GREAT news cause we need some sleep and work done at the house

Long time no blog.....

Well Well well I think it is about time I updated our family blog.  You would think we fell off the face of the earth.  We have just been super busy.  We had a great Christmas.  (Yes I know it is February and I am talking about Christmas….SAD) Jared and I got to spend some time together while Chase was at his moms for about a week.  We didn’t go anywhere this year we stayed in San Diego and enjoyed the wonderful weather.  Sorry for all you Northerners that have a TON of snow….so glad I am not there.  Chase got Monopoly for Christmas from Grandma Dianne and he made us play it immediately.  The game took us two nights to finish cause we haven’t played it in 20 years and had to read alllll the directions.  (Jared likes to make up rules as he goes)  Oh and here a cute pic Cuesa in her X-mas sweater too

We got to go out and have a nice New Years Eve together which I don’t think we have ever done.

We recently moved into a house from our 2 bedroom apartment.  We are very happy.  Our house has 3 bedrooms, a HUGE kitchen, 2 living rooms, a 2 car garage and a nice inground pool with a hot tub that flows into it.  Very rare to find such a nice house that we can afford here in San Diego so we are so EXCITED.  Chase is too. He keeps saying he can just walk out back and do a cannonball, but he hasn’t yet.  Its still too cold out.  Its only like low 70’s here hahaha

Heres a couple pics.  I will post more once I get everything put away and decorated (We just moved in last weekend) Here is a pic of the boys painting one of the bedrooms.  I think its so cute.

Chase’s Beiber hair was getting a little too long for me so I made him cut it.  He wanted a “frohawk” so he could be like dad.  So heres his two hair stages J  He is too funny, he thinks he is so cool with this new style.  Oh and Jared made him look like Alfalfa with his hair before we got it cut…obviously we are a super exciting family J

He looks like 3 different little boys to me.

For my birthday my dad made me an AWESOME makeup box.  He spent hours upon hours working on it and I cant explain how much I love it!!!!  It is probably my favoritist thing in the whole world.  He did sucha great job!

We haven’t done too much exciting just been busy packing to move and unpacking.  Hopefully we will get settled in here in the next week and relax for a while.  We did make a fun family trip to Dave and Busters which is Jared and Chases FAVORITE place to go eat so we frequent it a lot.  Here a few pics of us on our way.

I now realized why I haven’t blogged in a while I guess not that much has gone on with us,  even though I said we have been busy.  I guess school, work and basketball have been keeping us busy. Oh yeah,  Chase is playing basketball.  He is actually quite good.  Ill have to take a video to show everyone him.  He is just like his Daddy.

Oh Christmas Tree

As you can guess from the title we have our tree up.  WOOOHOOO  This may be the first year EVER that I didn't decorate the whole thing all by myself.  Coincidentally I think it is the best looking tree we have had too :) Must be Jared's touch (Or the fact hes the only one that can reach the top so the balls are actually spread out and not only from 5'4" and down)  Smiley

Here is Chase adding his own ornaments oh yeah and Cuesa sitting so pretty for the pic too.  The tree looks like its 5 foot tall but its 7 1/2 ft tall.  Chase is just getting so big :)

OK OK Cuesa looks slightly pissed at me in the second pic for making her wear that Santa headband, but she looked so cute!

I'm going to back track a little here and introduce you to my little piranha....

As stated in a previous blog this little munchkin's teeth are falling out at a rapid rate.  As you can see we wont be eating any whole apples anytime soon :)  Once a tooth is even slightly wiggly, Chase will work that thing to death.  Please see exhibit A below:

Then once he has a bloody masterpiece (My WHITE hand towels) he feels satisfied that its only a matter of time.  He's a piece of work.

So again backtracking.  Clearly I didn't think out my blog very well this time around....Turkey Day.  We had an awesome Thanksgiving.  Chase was at his moms and Jared, Cuesa and I went over to our wonderful friends Jay & Michelle's house.  A bunch of our friends all got together to spend the holiday together.  It was wonderful.  We had wayyyy to much food but just the right amount of drinks :)  It was a blast.  While we were all together we came up with an idea to be the Real Housewives of the Marine Corp.  So we are going to pitch our story to Bravo next week....I'll let everyone know how it goes :)  haha

Here we are all...

OK fast forward back to now (phewww tough blog to keep up with huh)  Jared is doing much better now after his surgery.  He can almost fend for himself full time.  Except of course when I get home then its like his knees have an allergic reaction to me because as soon as I get home BOOM he cant get off the couch!!!!!! But since he's so cute and bought me flowers (twice) for being his little nurse I guess I can handle it!

Jared and I went house/apt hunting yesterday, I know we lead exciting lives.  But we are so excited that we found the perfect place for us.  And even though we don't move until end of January we are still so excited to be out of our tiny apt and into a NEWER larger apartment.  So now I feel like December will fly by even faster than it usually does cause we are so excited to move.

Well now I need to start to think about Christmas shopping.....

Busy Busy Busy

Well these have been a couple busy busy busy weeks.  Since I started this blog I feel like a million things have happened....

For one Jared had bi-lateral knee surgery last Monday 11/08...That was fun to say the least.  The surgery itself was 2 1/2 hours long and we were at the hospital for over 9 hours.  I was exhausted.(Jared might have been a little too)  The nurses made Jared "walk" before he could go home.  I was thinking OMG are they serious, you know he just had Bi-lateral surgery right...meaning BOTH knees.  Apparently that doesn't matter he still had to walk to get out of the hospital so he basically tried to run just to go home.
Our first night home was as if I had just given birth to a new born.  I was exhausted and the "baby" cried ALLLLLLLL night long.  I didn't sleep more than 20 minutes before Mr Watson was needing me for something else.  In his defense the pain pills they gave him don't work for him and make him hyper so he couldn't sleep.  Poor guy.  He is doing a little better now after a week.  He is up and walking a little bit. (with crutches of course)  Which by the way his crutches are the same height as ME.  Today was his first physical therapy appt and everything seems to be going good.

Well all that and it was only MONDAY...sooooooo on Wednesday we had our best friends Roger and Michelle come in town from Virginia.  Roger just got home from a deployment last Friday 11/05 so the boys were very excited to see each other.  Since Jared was a little under the weather we enjoyed a lot of time at the house :(  (Just what they flew across the country to do)   We did manage to get him out of the house for food.  Not a real tough thing to bribe him with :)  We of course had to have Mexican when we have company in town. San Diego is the best place to get it.

Friday night was our Marine Corp Ball (our 6th one together) For those of you who don't know...They have this once a year to celebrate the Marine Corp Birthday.  Its a nice ceremony, dinner, drinks and dancing.  Well as you can imagine there was NO dancing.  We barely made it past the ceremony and Jared was ready for bed.  He isn't quite ready for a night full of partying yet!!!  But he sure did look handsome in his dress blues even with crutches :)

Saturday Chase had his 2nd soccer game and he is already doing very well.  He loves playing goalie. It is funny to watch this age play because they are like a bee swarm.  They all follow the ball and move all around the field this way.  I started playing at 5 and its funny to think this is what my parents had to come and watch on Saturday mornings.

Our friends left yesterday and went back home :(  We miss them already.

But Jared's aunt came in town today to help take care of the big baby and we are all very excited!   Hopefully I can get some cleaning done since we have another "mom" at the house to wait on the whiner hand and foot :)

Our most exciting news this week is that Chase lost his 2 front teeth :)  I dont have any pics of it, but I'll take some this week.  He has been waiting forever for these little guys to fall out.  He couldnt be more excited!!  They fell out like a day apart.  It was funny...so now his favorite song is "All I want for Christmas is..." He also has a third tooth that is loose that he has been working on for about 3 days now.  So hopefully that one will come out soon too.  The tooth fairy is going to go broke soon at my house, but we are very happy to get rid of his bad baby teeth and get some new ones in that he can take care of the right way!!!!!

Anyway like I said at the beginning...very busy week at our house and I have a feeling things will be much easier this week now that Mimi Marg is here to help :)
